home based care with stigma reduction

The program targets People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and their immediate families. It involves reaching PLWHA in their homes to provide palliative care and encourage positive living including health seeking behaviour, use of health services such as VCT, ART; and continuity of use. Through this program, TAIP in partnership with the churches has reached 1,130 People living with HIV/AIDS in nine districts of Iganga, Kayunga, Mukono, Jinja, Mayuge, Bugiri, Soroti, Pallisa, and Tororo.

The program provides an entry point in homes for PLWHAs as they desperately need physical, material and psychosocial support. Given this, the families of affected people and the wider community are able to open wide their doors for the church to reach them with the love of God through the gospel.
